Two portraits of Fielding William Spotts, age 78, at 217 1/2 Hogan's Alley. Spotts was the best-known resident of Hogan's Alley prior to his death in 1937. He came to Canada as an infant with a group of black settlers seeking to escape the racism experienced in California.
